Economic Justice

Why Not Me?

2. Support Workers’ Rights and Protections

1. Raise the Minimum Wage

believes that a just economy is one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive—not just the wealthy few. Economic justice means fair wages, protections for workers, and a level playing field for all. We are committed to creating an economy that serves everyone, from small business owners to hourly workers, ensuring that no one is left behind.

1. Raise the Minimum Wage

2. Support Workers’ Rights and Protections

1. Raise the Minimum Wage

Hardworking people deserve to earn a living wage that allows them to support their families. We support raising the minimum wage to a fair level that reflects the cost of living and ensures that no one working full-time lives in poverty.

2. Support Workers’ Rights and Protections

2. Support Workers’ Rights and Protections

Workers are the backbone of our economy, and they deserve respect and security. We stand for stronger labor laws, protecting the right to unionize, fair benefits, and workplace safety regulations. Every worker deserves a voice and a safe environment.

3. Expand Paid Family and Medical Leave

5. Strengthen Support for Small Businesses

2. Support Workers’ Rights and Protections

Families shouldn’t have to choose between their health, caregiving responsibilities, and their paycheck. We advocate for robust paid family and medical leave policies, ensuring that every worker has the time and support they need during critical moments.

4. Close the Gender and Racial Wage Gaps

5. Strengthen Support for Small Businesses

Equal work deserves equal pay. We support policies that address systemic inequities, ensuring that gender and racial wage disparities are eliminated and everyone is compensated fairly for their contributions.

5. Strengthen Support for Small Businesses

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and local economies. We support programs that provide small businesses with access to affordable loans, tax relief, and resources to grow and succeed in a competitive marketplace.

6. Tax Fairness and Closing Loopholes

7. Invest in Job Training and Workforce Development

7. Invest in Job Training and Workforce Development

Large corporations and the wealthiest individuals should pay their fair share. We advocate for closing tax loopholes and implementing fair tax policies that invest in public services, continued infrastructure, and programs that benefit working families.

7. Invest in Job Training and Workforce Development

In a rapidly changing economy, access to job training and career development is critical. We support investment in workforce training programs, apprenticeships, and education initiatives that prepare people for high-demand industries and sustainable careers.

8. Protect Gig and Contract Workers

7. Invest in Job Training and Workforce Development

8. Protect Gig and Contract Workers

The rise of the gig economy has left many workers without basic protections like health insurance or unemployment benefits. We advocate for policies that ensure gig and contract workers receive fair pay and access to benefits, recognizing their growing role in the workforce.

9. Ensure Affordable Childcare

Affordable childcare is essential for working families. We support expanding access to quality, affordable childcare programs, so parents can work without the financial strain of exorbitant childcare costs.

Bridging the Gap - Welfare Reform

Why Not Me?

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

believes in creating a system where safety nets empower progress rather than discourage it. While programs like SNAP and cash assistance are essential, they shouldn't stand in the way of those striving for more. True economic justice means designing policies that uplift people, not keep them stuck.

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

Why Not Me? believes in a system where economic safety nets serve as a springboard not a ceiling. Programs like SNAP, cash assistance, and housing subsidies are essential for survival, but all tooo often, they create a harsh choice:

  •  Stay on benefits and survive.
  • Try to earn more and risk losing everything.

This is the reality for millions of families. The system, as it stands, can "unintentionally" punish progress, cutting benefits too quickly, just as someone begins to stand on their feet.

The results? People are forced to choose between stability and opportunity. That's not economic justice, that's a TRAP!

The Hard Truths We Can't ignore

Breaking the Cycle, not the spirt

A New vision for economic mobility

  • A parent working overtime can lose childcare assistance, making that extra effort feels pointless
  • Accepting a raise can disqualify someone from food benefits, but not cover the gap left behind.
  • Cash assistance can disappear the moment someone finds part-time work, forcing people to stay unemployed to survive.

The system rewards stagnation over ambition. Together we will change that.

A New vision for economic mobility

A New vision for economic mobility

A New vision for economic mobility

Why Not Me? envisions a future where:

  • Benefits taper gradually, so families don't fall off a cliff the moment they progress.
  • Raise income thresholds, let people earn more before losing assistance.
  • Job training, education, and childcare are part of the solution, helping people move from assistance to independence.
  • Savings without penalty. Allow recipients to save for the future without losing benefits.

We can bridge the gap between welfare and a thriving workforce, but only if we demand reform that reflects compassion and common sense.

Why this matters to everyone

A New vision for economic mobility

Why this matters to everyone

This isn't just about those receiving benefits. When people are empowered to thrive, entire communities grow stronger.

  • More Small businesses flourish.
  • Workforce participation increases.
  • Children grow up seeing hard work lead to real reward.

Economic mobility isn't charity, it's an investment in all of us

Your voice can drive change

A New vision for economic mobility

Why this matters to everyone

Your experience, ideas, and struggles can shape the path forward. Whether you've been on assistance, know someone who has, or simply believe in fairness and opportunity for all, your voice matters.

Welcome to Why Not Me?

For too long,  we've been told to wait, accept low wages, skyrocketing costs, and leaders who work for billionaires instead of us. Why Not Me? is here to change that.

The Republican Party has rigged the system for the wealthy while distracting us with fear and division. And too often, Democrats have failed to fight back. We demand a party that stands with working people, not corporations, not the ultra rich, not political insiders.

This is about power. Our power. The power to lead, to demand better, to build a future where workers come first.

Why Not Me? Why not us? Why not now?
