Birth of a Movement

I felt more than disappointment—it was a deep, personal sense of loss, as though I had missed an opportunity to make a difference. I had ideas, real ideas that could bring meaningful change, and I believed that if only I had been in a position of influence, maybe I could have helped shape the dialogue and offered insights that might have resonated. But, as the dust settled, the disappointment turned inward. I wasn’t just disappointed in the results; I was disappointed in myself. And that feeling sparked something.

I realized that simply watching from the sidelines wasn’t enough. I had a choice: let disappointment sit in silence, or turn it into a call to action. So, I decided to learn, to research, and to educate myself. I explored what it would mean to run for office, and I quickly found myself doubting whether I, a “nobody,” could make any real impact. The question nagged at me: What could someone like me possibly change? But as I thought it over, I realized that my voice mattered precisely because of who I am. My doubts and experiences weren’t weaknesses; they were strengths.

And in that moment, it hit me: Why Not Me? This wasn’t just about me—it was about the absence of voices like mine and countless others in positions of leadership. Why Not Me? became a rallying cry for everyone who’s ever been labeled a “nobody” by society. We’re the ones most affected by political decisions, yet we have the least say in them. It doesn’t make sense that those who understand the struggles of everyday life should be so far removed from decision-making tables.

From that realization, I knew this mission would require more than a solo campaign. Why Not Me? would need to be a grassroots movement that motivated others to believe in their voices, too. This wasn’t just about me running; it was about empowering countless others to stand up and lead as well. The vision grew with each thought, and now, it’s a vision I truly believe people can get behind. This is about redefining who gets to have a voice, and it’s about reclaiming power for those who feel unheard.

And so, Why Not Me? was born—not as a campaign, but as a call for everyday people to rise and lead. Because if not us, then who?
